Leaving Tiananmen Square for Nanchangjie Avenue, it is a very relaxed ride under the shade of the scholar trees to the moat of the Forbidden City. The moat is rectangular in shape with willow trees both sides. Then to Jingsha Hill, which after, the climb to the top provides a fabulous bird’s eye of the 9999 rooms in the Forbidden City. City. We continue our ride to The Bell Tower and The Drum tower. These functioned as the reminder of Emperors time for prayer. Climb to the top of drum tower for an excellent view of the drumming performance which last for 20 minutes. We continue to The Black Sesame Hutong to sample dumplings with a local family; talking with the host is a good opportunity to get in touch with real Beijingers. The tour will end with a coffee break in a Hutong café.
