Shanghai, located in the middle of China’s east coastline at the mouth of Yangtze River, is one of Asia’s most vibrant, forward-thinking and cosmopolitan places and a global financial center. Shanghai is a fascinating mix of modern metropolis and traditional Chinese features. It is a good place for nostalgia; neoclassical architecture, historic museums, authentic food down gritty alleyways are parts of its glitz and glamour. The lively markets and old streets are well worth exploring.

I only have a day or less in Shanghai. What should I see?
we tend to avoid the glitzy tourist trap places and stick to more native things where you will mix with the Shanghainese rather than other tourists. To get off the tourist trail, I suggest you take in Old Shanghai south of Fuxing Road including the Confucius Temple, then over over to Fuxing Park to observe common people recreating with singing, dancing, exercising, etc., depending on the time of day.
